Toddler-friendly Hike on the C&O Canal Trail in Point of Rocks, MD

It’s crazy hot here, so we try to grab some outdoor time during the cooler evening hours, if we can. Tonight, we took a nice long walk on the C&O Canal Trail in Point of Rocks, MD.

This is the perfect path for little ones. It’s very walkable, stroller-friendly, and close to the bathrooms and parking lot. The entrance is kind of hidden, so be sure to keep an eye out for the signs.

Before you set out on the actual trail, check out the little shore by the boat ramp. It is a great spot to dip your toes in the Potomac River and enjoy the gorgeous view.

I highly recommend bug spray and water bottles. We couldn’t find a place to refill ours. Also, I’ve taken a click-n-go and an all-terrain stroller on this path before. I’ve never had any issues.

If you find yourself in need of a meal after your adventure, there are two super casual restaurants within a half mile, Deli on the Rocks and Aroma House. They both have pretty simple menus, and they’re good.

Have you hiked this trail before?
