Our Journey to Find All the LOVEworks in Virginia

You may have heard that Virginia is for Lovers. To celebrate all the love, there are more than 150 “LOVE” artworks across the state. The art pieces are super fun photo ops and we’re on a mission to find as many as we can.

My kiddos call them the “big letters” and they love when we go on scavenger hunts to find a new one. On our first hunt, we stopped in Leesburg, VA and Purcellville, VA. These towns are close enough that you can easily see them both in a day.

The LOVE artwork in Leesburg, VA is a metal sculpture designed by Mike Clay, an artist and metal fabricator from Lovettesville, VA.

Purcellville, Virginia’s LOVEwork represents DC’s wine country found in Loudoun County. There are tons of great wineries in the area and many of them are family-friendly.

Our second LOVEworks mission happened in Chincoteague, VA. I love this seaside-themed piece. It’s perfect in this quaint beach town.

Our third big “LOVE” search started in Capron, Virginia. I love the words of the owner of PandA Homestead. She said, “We want our LOVEwork to represent the homesteaders from America and around the world, this new generation of people trying to discover the old ways, the ways our ancestors left for us, to grow our own food, become self-sufficient, connect with nature and have fun while doing it.”

About 20 minutes up the road, there is a beautiful LOVEwork mural in Historic Downtown Franklin. It is a beautiful representation of all the family fun in the area.

Our next stop was Emporia, Virginia. Can you guess what they’re famous for? Yep, peanuts and lots of them! This peanut-themed LOVEwork is the perfect stop in this peanut-loving town.

Our final “LOVE” stop was the Virginia State Visitors Center. Our home state is celebrating 50 years of love with a heart-wrapped V, and we had to stop for a quick photo op.

Our adventures to find all the love in Virginia are so fun and the kids love them. I can’t wait to see how many we end up visiting. We just might get to see them all!

Have you seen a LOVEwork art piece before?
