Our kids have turned us into outdoorsy people, and that was no easy feat, but we love it. We try and spend as much time outside as we can. But the weather doesn’t always cooperate, so we try and find unique museums and play places that invite the outdoors in. Badlands Playspace in Rockville, Maryland checks every box for us.
We were invited to play on the twins’ 4th birthdays, and it was so much fun for everyone. The weekday morning toddler and preschool time was filled with age-appropriate activities and tons of climbing fun.
Badlands Playspace is a nature-inspired play space and interactive environment. The rising mountains dotted with lime green slides are a great way to burn off that toddler energy. Shadowy tunnels invite little ones to climb in, around and through. Seven different areas help kiddos build confidence and grow their creativity.
I love how the staff watches out for the tiniest visitors as they try out their rock climbing skills. And, the schedule for the morning was so thoughtful. Yes, the kids can go crazy, run, jump and climb, then take a little breather during circle time. After that, it is back to all the “outdoor” fun. Then, they open the art gallery where kids can slow down and express their creativity. Clearly, a mom had a hand in the design of this fantastic place.
For the twins’ birthdays, the little cafe (adult drinks too!) was the perfect option for yummy goodies. The staff even offered a donut cake tower and chocolate cupcakes with birthday candles. We chose to hang out at one of the tables, but with a bigger party, we would have rented a birthday pavilion. It is a great space to host a super fun event.
Badlands Play offers monthly memberships with unlimited play and cafe discounts.
I can’t wait for Kidchella later this year!
Check out all the fun!
